Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, community based organizations that usually serve vulnerable populations on site are working overtime to reach out to their clients and make sure they have the things they need during these trying times. This work is especially challenging for smaller nonprofits in the Commonwealth. When the Association found out that one of its new community partners, the Neighborhood Network Center located in north Dorchester needed help supporting the older adults in their Golden Academy Program, the association voted to help the center. The Association provided twenty $100 dollar Stop N Shop gift cards to be included in the Mother’s Day baskets that were distributed to members of the Golden Academy. The baskets were delivered to each household the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Many of the Golden Academy members who received the baskets are also Chat with a Trooper participants.
