On Saturday, July 4, 2020, at approximately 0300 hours, in the Town of Danielson, Connecticut, unknown individual(s) forced entry into a locked State Police cruiser and stole several items, including, but not limited to; a semi-automatic Bushmaster XM 15 Rifle. As a result of this threat to the public’s safety, the Connecticut State Police Union is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and/or return of the State Police property.
The Connecticut State Police Union recognizes that the actions of the perpetrator(s) put the safety of the public and our Troopers at risk. As a result, we are asking the public for their help in identifying anyone that may have any information that would assist our State Police Major Crime Detectives with securing the stolen rifle and other State Police property that could be used to harm members of the public. Those items include, but are not limited to; a plastic container
containing 70 rounds of .45 and .223 caliber ammunition, two sets of body armor ( one with velcro “State Police” patches on the front and back of the vest, a “State Police” raid jacket, a black straight baton with black plastic holder, and a black gas mask.
Although the items were stolen from the vehicle of a member of the State Police Command Staff, and not a member of the State Police Union, we understand the importance of providing our assistance and support due to the dangerous circumstances. The first priority of the State Police Union is to ensure the safety of the Public and ALL State Troopers, regardless of rank.

The $1,000 reward will be paid immediately upon the items being secured by the State Police.
