Cathy Draine, State Police Association of Massachusetts Director of Community Engagement receives awards at the 45th Annual National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Conference

Boston, MA – The State Police Association of Massachusetts is proud to announce that Cathy Draine, the Director of Community Engagement, has been awarded the 2021 Walter Lawson Award and the 2021 Outstanding Community Service Award during the annual National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Conference.

“Cathy has been instrumental in our ability to reach out to the community and engage in causes that we care deeply about,” said Michael Chevern, President of the Association. “Cathy is a tireless advocate that improves the lives of others in everything she does. To her, it isn’t a job…it is who she is to her core. I am so proud to have her as a part of the Association team, and, more importantly, to be able to call her a friend.”


ABOUT CATHY DRAINE: Cathy has been instrumental in organizing events that engage our most vulnerable citizens and allows them to interact in a positive way with State Troopers. She has organized Workout with a Trooper, a program aimed at helping children stay physically fit while safely sheltering in place. She has headed Chat with a Trooper, a program helping senior citizens engage in friendly conversations with volunteer Troopers during the COVID-19 crisis. Finally, she was instrumental in planning the Turkey Dinner Distribution Program, where volunteer Troopers distributed 250 donated turkeys and full dinners to vulnerable families in Dorchester and Roxbury.
