It’s that time of year again!  Mark your calendars on Sunday, January 25, 2026 for the 10th annual event of the BFit Challenge hosted by the Bruins Foundation at the TD Garden.

Brief Event Details:

  • Date:  Sunday, January 25th, 2026
  • Time:  9AM – 1PM
  • Location:  TD Garden, Boston, MA
  • Coordinators:
    • Brendan Murphy, SPAM Treasurer
    • Jason Bouck, H-7 Barracks Rep

What is the BFit Challenge?

It is the perfect event/platform for first responder charities and fundraisers to enter and raise money for their cause.  Get a chance to run and explore obstacles all around inside the TD Garden.  It is a family fun event, so bring your family, children and friends to come to cheer you on.

For its 4th year in a row, SPAM will be entering a team to help fundraise for our Benevolent Fund.  You may not know exactly what our Benevolent Fund does.  To put it briefly, our fund since 2010 has a goal to raise money for members during certain unfortunate times in need, provide financial support for members’ families who were killed in the line of duty, set up memorials, provide scholarships for member’s children and dependents, and much more!

Each year, our BFit team has been increasing in numbers, with last year’s team being up to 125 members.  It was our biggest team and the biggest team of the whole event!  Last year, our members and friends were able to fundraise approximately $75,000.  That was second place behind the PFFM Foundation.  The Bruins Foundation was impressed and told SPAM that they have higher expectations this year, and I want you to join me and help!

What is each person’s goal?

Once signed up, the goal per person is to fundraise $300 towards your individual page that I will set up for you.  Don’t worry, it’s not as hard as you think!  Once you reach the minimum $300, BFit will assign you a bib that you will grab on the day of the BFit Challenge.  Don’t think your as fit as you were in your days at the academy?  Not to worry, the BFit run course has several different difficulty paths for your capabilities.

This event awards prizes for top individual fundraisers.

Top 100 fundraisers will receive a green bib which guarantees them to start first, entrance into the after party & 2 preseason tickets for the 26-27 season.

  • $1500 raised: BFit Swag Item.
  • $2500 raised: Puck autographed by a Boston Bruins player.
  • $5000 raised: Jersey autographed by a Tier A Boston Bruins player and an autographed Boston Bruins puck.
  • $10,000 raised: 4 tickets to a Boston Bruins home game in the 26-27 season and all prizes above.

Not to mention, I hope to include internal prizes for our own team which will be determined.

This event starts at 9:00 AM. Family and friends can walk freely to find a seat and watch.  These family and friends can also sign up and join our team if they wish to help fundraise with us!  If you’re interested in joining our team, please reach out to me by phone or email (listed below).  If you are certain in joining us, please sign up.

Once submitted, I will personally sign you up to our team on the BFit page and provide you with further instructions on what to do next for more clarity.
