Boston, MA– Butters Brazilian LLP is proud to announce its representation of the 1,900 Troopers and Sergeants of the State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM). SPAM is the largest law enforcement association in New England.
Butters Brazilian attorneys Matthew Thompson and Patrick Hanley will provide counsel and representation to SPAM members in conjunction with internal investigations, disciplinary action, medical retirement hearings, grand jury investigations and litigation. Attorney Thompson and Attorney Hanley will also provide strategic legal advice to new SPAM President Corey Mackey and the Executive Board on issues impacting the membership.
Attorney Thompson has practiced at Butters Brazilian since 2002. He has successfully represented individuals and corporations in both federal and state court, including members of law enforcement. Attorney Hanley joined Butters Brazilian in April 2019. He was a prosecutor for 14 years, spending more than ten years at the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts leading investigations and prosecutions into organized crime, gangs, drug trafficking, money laundering, financial fraud and public corruption. Attorney Hanley served as the first Chief of Gaming enforcement where he worked hand in hand with the men and women of the State Police.
